The egyptians often owned and worshiped thier pets. though cattle and liivestock were most important to them, they were not often worshiped, were as cats and dogs were worshiped as the gods, anubis and baset. Anubis was the god of enbalming. Though he was more of a jakle than a dog. Baset however, (the cat godess) was the godess of protecting woman and cats. She looks like a cat, but can be identifyed by the gold ring in her nose.
